Knotty White Pine Door Characteristics:
The heartwood of the eastern white pine is pale brown, with occasional reddish brown streaks. The sapwood, which makes up most of the tree, is a pale yellow/white color. It has knots that vary in size from large to small. Knots tend to be relatively tight and smooth with cracks. Used extensively in timber-frame and log homes. Knotty pine doors are used for everything from American Indian totem poles to Early American furniture and adds a colonial feel to any home.
